2. Stage 1
1. I opened
photoshop and
made a solid
black colour
layer.
I had decided on a
black based colour
scheme from initial
planning.
3. Stage 2
2. I decided on a
magazine title, and
experimented with
multiple fonts (see
Blogger Post – I
actually changed
fonts in later
stages.
I settled on the
Ostrich Sans font. I
then used
Photoshop to make
multiple variants of
title text.
4. Stage 3
3. I took photos of my
subject and
experimented with
layering and opacity. I
then used the paint
brush tool to give a
flat effect in the
photo.
I liked the grey look of
the cover and
thought it gave a
very minimalist and
professional look.
5. Stage 4
• 4. I came up with the
catch phrase of
“Bring you the best”
and added a future
date and issue
number.
6. Stage 5
• I added 2
mirrored photos
of my subject
into the photo.
This gives a very
surrealistic effect
7. Stage 6
• I added a Cyan and
Deep Red photo Filter
onto the photo. I then
displaced the filters to
give a 3 dimensional
effect.
8. Stage 7
• I then added
the subjects
name onto the
cover and
processed the
text.
• I used
brightness and
contrast to add
a sense of
depth onto the
photograph.
This also made
the text stand
out.
