5. Dear Delegates,
Following the success of the Inaugural Asia Pacific World Sport and
Women Conference, held in Melbourne in 2012, I warmly welcome you.
This year’s conference will look to build on the themes discussed in 2012
and further provide a global platform to explore ‘how’ and ‘why’ women
consume sport and how to leverage this target market for greater
commercial growth.
It will focus strongly on how to increase female consumption of sport
from grassroots participation and international representation, to the
boardroom and stadia across the Asia Pacific Region and beyond.
You will hear from inspiring international and Australian keynote
speakers who will talk about their global and local success stories across
health, education, performance and leadership in sport.
It is not only our objective for this conference to focus on strengthening
women’s involvement and participation but also, and more importantly,
to empower, engage and lead women in sport into the future.
This conference is nothing without your engagement and I encourage
you to attend the networking drinks and dinner to continue the
discussions of the day and share your learnings.
I very much look forward to meeting you all.
