4.1 Physical, emotional,
spiritual, social, economic,
political and environmental.
3. Every unsafe practice has
an effect.
Whatever you do affects
other people, your
environment and the
community.
4. THE EFFECTS OF UNSAFE
BEHAVIOUR.
Physical: can cause injuries, can lead to
death and some form of disabilities.
Emotional: can lead to traumatize after
death, saddeness or anger and also shock.
Spiritual: may lead to lose of faith and
the individuals involved can feel guilty and
ashemed to attend religious meetings.
5. EFFECTS CONT.
Social: the individuals involved can be
punished and may go to jail, they may be
labelled killers, the relatives will be
ashamed and upset.
Economic: the cost of injuries and death
or damaged goods, injuries obtained or
deaths may lead to social grant dependent
and unemployment.
6. CONT.
Political: the government will be
burdened and cost by using taxpayers
money to repair damages and help the
injured.
Environmental: environment may be
damaged and it can also lead to pollution.
8. COPE WITH AND OVERCOME
BARRIERS REGARDING
BEHAVIOUR.
It is everybody's responsibility to make
decisions and choices.
You have to make sure that these
decisions are well informed and
reasonable, and do not cause harm to
others.
No body can make decisions for you.
9. A DECISION-MAKING METHOD.
You describe the decision you need to
make. Eg to have sexual intercourse or
not?
Gather information about the decision.
Identify your different options. Eg
abstain, refuse to have sex or
unprotected sex, or do it.
Give at least one impact or effect for
each option.
10. METHOD CONT.
Choose the best option and act on
your decision.
Evaluate your decision. Eg assess
how you feel about your decision.
11. SUBSTANCES THAT AFFECT
DECISION-MAKING ABILITIES.
Alcohol and drugs affect the ability to
make responsible decisions.
Alcohol & drugs often lead to decisions
that we normally regret there after.
12. SEEK SUPPORT, ADVICE AND
ASSISTANCE.
Support and assistance is always there if
you need it.
Look for help, ask for help and take
every opportunity to live a healthy and
balanced life.
