3. Daniel’s Faith
King Darius became the
king of Babylon. He chose
and appointed 120 people
to advise and help him
govern his people.
However, he only picked
three people-including
Daniel-to supervise his
appointees.
4. Daniel was good, loyal,
and faithful worker. King
Darius liked him very much
because he is trustworthy and
hardworking. He eventually
had plans of making Daniel in
charge of the whole kingdom.
5. Some of the appointees noticed that King
Darius favored Daniel so much. They started to
dislike Daniel and planned to put him in trouble.
They went to the King and advised him to make
a new law that requires everyone to pray only to
King Darius. Anyone who would break this law
would be thrown into the lion’s den. Unaware of
the danger this will cause Daniel, King Darius
signed the new law.
6. Daniel heard about the
King’s new law. He was
saddened by the news but
continued to pray to God
thrice a day.
7. Days after, the jealous
appointees went to the
king to report about
Daniel. King Darius was
surprised by the news
and tried to make
amendments to save
Daniel, but failed. The
law could not be changed.
8. Hence, he had Daniel
arrested and thrown into
a pit filled with roaring
lions. King Darius hoped
that Daniel’s God would
save him. The guards
rolled a stone over the
dens opening and the King
put his royal seal to make
sure that no one would
move it and rescue Daniel.
9. The next morning, the
king immediately went
back to the den to check
on Daniel. He called on
Daniel but did not expect
an answer. Surprisingly,
he and the other
appointees heard a voice
coming from the pit
below.
10. Daniel was alive! He said that
he prayed to God and an angel
came to protect him from the
hungry lions. King Darius was
very happy. He ordered his
men to pull Daniel from the
den. The King punished the
appointees who got Daniel into
trouble. He also issued a new
law that orders all of the
people to honor and worship
Daniel’s God, the living God,
who saved the faithful Daniel
in the lion’s den.
11. Faith is believing in something that
we cannot see. One perfect example is our
faith in God. We may not see Him with our
naked eyes but we trust Him. We trust
God amidst all the circumstances in our
lives.
12. • Faith enables us to have an intimate
relationship with God.
• Faith releases us from fear and anxiety.
• Faith brings joy, peace, and hope
