• AERO INDIA is biennial air show and aviation exhibition
• Held in BENGALURU , INDIA at Yelhanka Airforce Station
• largest Air Show in ASIA
• Emerged as World’s most important and largest military aviation
exhibition

ORGANISED?
• The first edition was held in 1996
• held after every 2 years
• Aero India 2023 was the 14th edition
• A 5 day show from 13th feb to 17th feb
• by the Defence Exhibition Organisation ,Ministry of Defence
• This time by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited

India is looking to export
• India is in talks with Argentina and Egypt it’s indigenous LCA Tejas (
participated in several air shows at Malaysia, Bahrain, Dubai)
8. • India is looking to export the indigenous
Advanced light Helicopter to Mauritius
9. • India is in talks with Guyana to export the
Dornier 228 and fast Patrol Vessels.
10. • Last year India signed a 335 million dollar contract with the
Philippines to export The BrahMos Supersonic Cruise Missile ( A joint
venture between India and Russia) and also looking to export it’s
lighter next generation version BrahMos NG to over 10 countries.
11. Two Defence Industrial Corridors are being set up in
Uttar Pradesh and Tamilnadu.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike has put an
ban on the sale and serving of meat and non vegetarian
food within the radius of 10 km around the Airforce
station because non veg food draws a lot of scavenger
bird, who might cause accidents in mid air.

Raise India’s annual Defense exports
to 5 billion dollars by 2024-25 from
the 1.5 billion dollars currently.

Aerospace and Defense sector.

equipment technologies and foreign
partnership With foreign companies in
like with “Make in India, Make for the
world “ Vision.
14. Aims
• The event aims to promote export of indigenous air platforms like
Tejas, Brahmos, Light utility Helicopters.
• It will integrate domestic MSMEs and start- ups in the global supply
chain and attract foreign investments.
• Union Defence Minister Rajnath singh said though Aero India is a
Business event, it also aims to strengthen India’s relation with others
countries.
