 Based on whatI know aboutthese types of jobs, whatdo I think makes me a
good fit? WhatwillI bring to thesejobsthat willbe advantageous/beneficial?
I havean experienceas assistantaccountsmanagerand I knowhowto keep records
of business transactions and haveknowledgeaboutfinancialwork. Moreover, I am
good at solving problems and decision-making. I haveall the required skills for this
job. Itwill be beneficial for the company as I can adjusteasily and will be able to do
my job.
 Do I haveany potential weak areas of skill/expertise/education compared to
what this / these job description(s) call for? If so, what are they? (You will
wantto consider these and then determine if you should deploy any specific
strategies to help offset these.
I have all the required skills and qualification for this job. I have knowledge
about finance and know how to do analysis. But I will try to get more
knowledge and experience in finance sector.
Step Number 2:
Study the job descriptions
If you have one specific job you’re pursuing, great. Study that. If you are applying
for multiple potential new jobs, once you have a ballpark idea of what you’re
gunningfor, you shouldhead over to oneof yourfavoritejobboardsand snagsome
job descriptions that line up pretty well with your vision for what that ideal next
job looks like.
The purposeof this exercise – again, if you’renot aligning your resume to justone
specific opportunity – is to seethe common terms, phrases, andrequired skills that
go along with the roles you’re gravitating toward.
 What are the required or preferred skills/terms/qualifications that are
common to these positions? (Compare these to the things you listed in
Question 3 above)
A bachelor’s degree in finance, statistics, economics, finance, accounting.
Accounting skills
Good communication skills
Technical skills
Problem-solving skills
Analytical skills
Step Number 3:
WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT CANDIDATE?
What makes me a great candidate for this (these) role(s)? Why should the hiring
manager or recruiter pay attention to me for this role I am pursuing? If you don’t
have a handle on this, don’t expect your audience to. Let’s spell your value
proposition, or your “So What?”
Complete these questions/statements with your specific job or target audience in
mind:
 I amgood at time management, accounting skills and problem-solving skills.
 Something that I’m going to bring to this job that will make an immediate
impact is: I havespent threeyears in bachelor of commerce(accounting and
finance) and I have an experience of two years as an assistant accounts
manager in Marutijacquardcompany.I would bring my experience and skills
to your company and I don’t need any extra time to learn the basics of my
job. I also have the experience to manage workloads, maintain a budget,
recording transactions, and communicating with staff members. I have
creative thinking and I can solve every problem quickly.
 Ifa recruiter or hiring manager spendsjust20secondsreviewing myresume,
what do they need to see/know about me right away? What’s my “must-
have” messaging?
They need to see my qualification, technical and analytical skills, and
experience.
Step Number 4:
Share the Stuff You’re Proudest of
Answer these questions for each role you’veheld. As you answer them, keep your
target audience/target job in mind so that you highlight things that may directly
appeal to the decision-maker, for that role.
 What am I most proud of? What do I consider my crowning moment(s)?
Once our company had a target to make 50 machines in a week. It was a difficult
task but I handled the whole team and assign the duties to the workers. I made a
budget to earn maximum profits and record the time of production. All the team
members worked as per my strategies and finally, we made 50 designer machines
in 6 days the buyer was very happy to get the order before the due date and our
companyearned doubleprofits. My owner appreciated meand gaveme the award
of the best employee of the month.
 Ifyouasked the peoplearound me, “Hey,what’sthe bestpartaboutworking
with [YOUR NAME]?” here’s what they would probably say: they would say
that I am a hard worker and dedicated person who always focus on my work
prior anything else. Apart from it, they would say I am a good leader,
coordinator, organizer, and problem solver.
Often, it’s the answers to these very questions that will help you realize your true
value and enable you to stand apart from the competition.
Step Number 5: Summarize & Strategize
 Given the informationoutlined above, here arethekey points I need to make
sure come across in this new resume:
