Editor's Notes
Objectives of Social media marketing
Brand awareness
Engagement with target audience
Followers
Industry influencers
Create and add value
Increase Profitability
Example 1: Companies collaborating with influencers to market on Social Media
In a sponsored Instagram post that received around 45,000 likes, Carey posed on the mansion’s beachfront patio and tagged Airbnb in both the photo and the caption. Over the course of the past two years, Airbnb has worked with dozens of other top celebrities, and the approach taken with Mariah Carey has become Airbnb’s standard influencer marketing strategy.
Example 2: Social media influencers collaborate with brands to provide review about their product
Example 3: Using Current trend/situation to their benefit for example using COVID -19 hashtag
They offered 30% off to healthcare workers during second wave and introduced teacher's edition as well with same initiative.
Example 4: Nike engaging with their consumers on social media to give more personalized sense of belongingness. Secondly, they produced a Web Series to connect with their audience and do a subtle marketing through it. According to a Cisco study, by 2022, 82% of all online content will be video content. This clearly shows how important it is to start utilising video content to stay relevant in the social media domain (Marketing, 2020).
Cambridge Analytica was accused of acquiring user data from Facebook without the consent of people and used it to influence their decision-making during US elections.
This puts entire economic system in jeopardy and puts sustainability in danger.
Companies must keep talking advantage of the social media platforms creating new trends but working ethically
Monitoring the transit of the followers and listen their feedback constantly
