1. Pitch
Title of film: Zombie Lodge (working title)
Plot synopsis:
The plot of our film was inspired by The Decent and Zombie land. A group of teenagers go away to an isolated lodge to explore and have a party. As the teenagers are partying they become less aware of what is going on and don’t realise that there is zombies coming towards them. One of the teenagers spots the zombies coming towards them so they run to the lodge in order to escape, however the zombies manage to break down the door and chase them round the house. The teenagers then have to plan their escape from the zombies that have entered the house and the ones that are waiting for them outside.

Opening sequence:
The film starts off with the teenagers packing the car and making sure they have everything for their trip, it then cross cuts to the lodge that they will be staying at and we can see that there is zombies living in and around the house. It will then continue to cross cut between these two scenes and the teenagers arriving at the house, once at the house as the teenagers go to open the door, once they touch the handle to go inside there is a flash forward and we see a medium shot of a teenager and zombie separated by a wall.
Creative techniques:
Past paced montage of shots of the location to set the scene of how isolated it is for the audience.
Jump cuts of when the teenagers are running up the stairs in order to show panic and disorientation
Over the shoulder shots of teenagers looking out the window to show the zombies getting closer
Medium long shot showing the teenager and zombie on the other side of the doors to show how close they are
Close up of zombies
Sound perspective of footsteps and breathing as running up the stairs away from zombies to highlight the panic and rush that they are in
Ambient sounds that don’t fit the scene to show
Possible funding/distribution issues
Apply for funding from First Light, because they have number of youth funding schemes including: The Young Film Fund, the UK Film Council’s Lottery funded filmmaking initiative for five to 19 year olds to make short films with professional support and funds can be up to £30000.
Also, The UKFC as it provides funds from the National Lottery to cover production, development, training, education and exhibition.
