Examine Images which Present
Particular Viewpoint, e.g.
Opinions on an Issue
 Describe images which present an
opinion on an issue;
 Express one’s opinion on an issue; and
 Respect the opinions of others
You are expected to….
Viewpoint

the world or your distinct
perspective on things.

cursed by an evil witch to sleep
forever.

the middle of a quarrel between
her father and his former friend.

opinion.
Opinion
is an expression of a person’s feelings, value or belief.
It is subjective.
It is something personal.
Editorial Cartoon
is an example of an image which presents an
artist’s opinion on a certain issue.
It has an educational purpose.
It conveys message and meanings.
• One might agree or disagree
with another person’s opinion
on an issue because of our
individual differences.
• But even though an opinion
might not be the same as
yours, it must be respected.

The Best Farmer
By: Marites S. Galvez
My father is a very hardworking man. He is working like there is no tomorrow. He is
farming from sun up to sun down. He is planting rice and vegetables in our field. At this
time of the year, he is waiting for harvest time. Last year, he was looking for a
bountiful harvest but typhoon hit our place and destroyed our crops. It was the time
that he was feeling so devastated. This year, he will be expecting good produce since
the palay grains are looking so good. For my father, the best reward for all his effort is
seeing his plants grow well. His love for farming is unwavering. If there is an award for
the best farmer in the world, my father would definitely win the race.
