QBE Travel has two existing front-end applications used to sell Travel Insurance through the
Internet: FIDO and B2B2C These two systems are supported with a back-end accounting
system I90, which provides support for medical appraisals, policy endorsements, claims and
financial accounting functions. Policies sold through the front-end systems are up-loaded into
the I90 system through periodic batch updates. All reports used by QBE Travel sales and
accounting are provided through I90.
In 2003, a decision was made within Travel to replace the two front-end systems with a single
system to provide the following benefits to the division:
To be designed to provide a flexible and easily customisable insurance sales platform
To deliver Travel Insurance to both Public purchasers and Travel Agency brokers via the
Internet To have the ability to sell insurance in both Australia and New Zealand with the option

To be developed using QBE IT standard methodologies including Java, IBM WebSphere, and
DB2 and for the hosting and support of the production system to by T&PD in the Homebush
Data Processing Centre.
To this end, in early 2004, Travel contracted eProgram Pty Ltd of Eltham, VIC to develop an
application to provide these capabilities. In December 2004, Travel took final delivery of the
initial version of this application that had been named Travel Point of Sale (TPOS). Over the
course of the next six months, a contractor working within Travel developed a second version.
This second version was deployed at Homebush and on 1 July 2005 went live allowing several
New Zealand agencies to sell Travel Insurance. By the end of that same month, all insurance
sales by NZ agencies and NZ customer services were being done using TPOS.

transaction from DB2 and we can complete the transaction.
Wellpoint Provider is the online resource for finding doctors, hospitals and other health
professionals that participate in out current insurance plan or a different Blue Cross plan. We
have developed this application for 10 brands i.e. 10 different states in US like Georgia,

To this end, in early 2004, Travel contracted eProgram Pty Ltd of Eltham, VIC to develop an application to provide these capabilities. In December 2004, Travel took final delivery of the initial version of this application that had been named Travel Point of Sale (TPOS). Over the course of the next six months, a contractor working within Travel developed a second version. This second version was deployed at Homebush and on 1 July 2005 went live allowing several New Zealand agencies to sell Travel Insurance. By the end of that same month, all insurance sales by NZ agencies and NZ customer services were being done using TPOS. We have used DB2 database for Work In Progress related transactions i.e if any of the above transaction is saved in the middle record will be stored in DB2. Later we can resume the transaction from DB2 and we can complete the transaction. Wellpoint Provider is the online resource for finding doctors, hospitals and other health professionals that participate in out current insurance plan or a different Blue Cross plan. Analyzed log files to solve problems using debugging tools like Log Analyzer, First Failure Data Capture Tool and Collector Tool. – Involved in architecting core-groups in the environment their by logically separating related application JVM into single core group to enhance performance. – Involved in deployment and code push activities.
