Public Affairs Job Description
Chief, Multimedia and Graphic Design
Reports to: Director of Public Affairs
Function: Assists the Director by developing multimedia and graphic design products for the CAP Public Affairs
Program in the North Central Region
Responsibilities include:
• Complete graphic design projects as agreed to with the director, in support of products such as NCR
News, NCR Structured Social Media Operations, and Public Affairs Training
• Develop multimedia products such as video, flash animations, illustrations, graphics and related
products as requested by the director
• Serve as a member of the NCR Public Affairs Team
• Promote a strong Safety and Operational Risk Management program within CAP
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Time Commitment:
• 3-6 Hours per month
• Monthly 1 hour PA Team conference call
• Monthly 1-on-1 call with the director
Desired Requirements for the Position:
• Rank – Capt. or below, Senior Member NCO, Flight Officer, or Phase 4 Cadet
• Experience – At least 2 years’ experience as Squadron Public Affairs Officer (or Cadet assistant).
knowledgeable about graphic/multimedia design, concepts and software
• Training – Rated at least Technician in the Public Affairs Specialty Track (or equivalent in the case of
cadets)
• Portfolio - Candidates will be asked for samples of their work
• Permissions - Applicants must obtain permission from their unit and Wing Commanders
• Duty Assignment - This position does not involve a transfer to NCR headquarters, NCR-001
• Relationship to HQ, NCR - This assignment is in addition to the members other CAP duties. Members
would join the NCR Public Affairs Team with the understanding that their primary obligation is to their
assigned unit.
