The Big Picture
The Big Picture is a statewide professional development program that supports K-12 educators
and students as they connect across disciplines through art. A full listing of Big Picture programs
is available at www.artnc.org.
Art of Collaboration
Each school year the Museum partners with public school systems to bring our collections into
classrooms across North Carolina. Art of Collaboration teachers use the visual arts to engage
their students in learning about math, science, social studies, and language arts. Since the
project's inception in 2007, the Museum has partnered with more than 300 teachers and 8800
students in elementary and middle schools in 26 North Carolina counties.
North Carolina Virtual Public Schools
Did you know North Carolina Museum of Art offers free online courses through the North
Carolina Virtual Public School? Students can now enroll in our first middle school course entitled
Discovering Photography which meets 8th
grade NC Essential Standards in Art and fulfills the
graduation requirement for an online course.
Scheduling Tours (http://ncartmuseum.org/visit/tours/)
The Museum's school group coordinator will assist you in reserving a tour and selecting a theme
that best fits the needs of your students. For more information or to make a reservation, email
the coordinator (jcoon@ncartmuseum.org) or call (919) 664-6820. Reservations for school
groups must be made at least four weeks in advance. Tour requests will be filled in the order
received, with the aim of serving as many groups as possible. As tours are very popular, we
cannot guarantee every request.

North Carolina Museum of Art Program Information The Big Picture The Big Picture is a statewide professional development program that supports K-12 educators and students as they connect across disciplines through art. A full listing of Big Picture programs is available at www.artnc.org. Art of Collaboration Each school year the Museum partners with public school systems to bring our collections into classrooms across North Carolina. Art of Collaboration teachers use the visual arts to engage their students in learning about math, science, social studies, and language arts. Since the project's inception in 2007, the Museum has partnered with more than 300 teachers and 8800 students in elementary and middle schools in 26 North Carolina counties. North Carolina Virtual Public Schools Did you know North Carolina Museum of Art offers free online courses through the North Carolina Virtual Public School? Students can now enroll in our first middle school course entitled Discovering Photography which meets 8th grade NC Essential Standards in Art and fulfills the graduation requirement for an online course. Scheduling Tours (http://ncartmuseum.org/visit/tours/) The Museum's school group coordinator will assist you in reserving a tour and selecting a theme that best fits the needs of your students. For more information or to make a reservation, email the coordinator (jcoon@ncartmuseum.org) or call (919) 664-6820. Reservations for school groups must be made at least four weeks in advance. Tour requests will be filled in the order received, with the aim of serving as many groups as possible. As tours are very popular, we cannot guarantee every request.
