3. Examples of adaptation options
• Energy and industrial systems: water management and cooling strategies and
resilience of existing infrastructure
• Land and agriculture: conservation agriculture, efficient irrigation, efficient
livestock, agroforestry, community-based adaptation, ecosystem restoration,
avoided deforestation, coastal defence
• Urban: green infrastructure, resilient water and urban ecosystem services, urban
and peri-urban agriculture, adapting building and land use through better
planning
• Rural landscapes: investing in health, social safety nets, insurance for risk
management, education-based options

4. Your experiences in engaging private sector
• What was the climate hazard and adaptation need to be addressed?
• Which actors were involved in addressing that need (public and
private) and how were they engaged?
• Why did the private sector invest in adaptation in this example? Was
