Where No Sim Has Gone Before Chapter 2: Dance or Die!
1. Where No Sim Has Gone Before
Chapter 2: Dance or Die!
2. Captainās Personal Log:
While I still find myself living in Belladonna Cove, I was recently reinstated as an officer in Starfleet. It took 150 years, well at least
150 years for them. Time it would seem runs differently in this dimension/part of the universe. My banishment is now considered
wrong, and therefore Iāve been given the honor of relaying information/exploring this part of the universe/dimension. I could not
bear to leave now.
3. Kes will inherit the āshipā after I retire, while Carol will be free to do whatever her heart
desires. Kes seemed the most eager of the girls, and Iām confident that when the time
comes sheāll be ready.
4. āZa Woka Genava!ā
āComputer pause recording and delete the last 10 seconds from the log. Look lady, Iāve
told you go away.ā
Geez havenāt any of these Belladonians ever heard of a one night stand?
5. āComputer resume log.ā
Kes is already my little captain in training. She enjoys ābeing in commandā when Makoto and I are
away from the apartment.
I understand her appearance may seem odd, however, allow me to assure Star Fleet they could not
ask for a better candidate. It is extremely important to this culture that children and individuals
express themselves freely in regards to their clothing. So a little girl choosing to wear a duckie
flotation device is considered perfectly normal.
6. While it took us a lot of time, Makoto and I have found a way to communicate with one
another so that he can at least assist with more of the day to day activities of maintaining
the apartment and other exploration responsibilities.
He now takes up the responsibility of serving dinner once or twice a week so that I might
take care of the girls. And heās also begun accompanying me on away missions.
7. Unfortunately, I still canāt seem to get him to understand the very simple fact that
I NEED to shower in the mornings.
8. And then there are still many times when Makoto and the others seem to quickly āforgetā
their assigned tasks or the requests I make of them.
Fortunately, Kes does not seem to be affected by these frequent lapses in memory.
Perhaps it is her human half which spares her this fate.
9. āWhippna Choba Dog! ā
āComputer pause log. No wait resume log..
āCaptainās personal note, trying to assist your children with homework that is in complete
gibberish is damn near impossible.ā
āAhhhh Molombia.ā
ā Computer pauseā¦Kes, I have NO idea what you are talking about.ā
10. *resume log*
It is customary that I assist Kes each and every night with her homework. In fact, Kes will not
even dare to attempt her work without my assistance. I asked her why she did not request
Makoto to assist her, and unfortunately I have been unable to translate her response.
Therefore I handle any and all teaching responsibilities around this ship.
*Computer pause log* However, this is likely for the best since everyone here is nuts. *resume
captainās log*
11. Makoto has recently begun to glow whenever he takes part in any musical activities.
According to my research this is considered normal among the localsā¦.they can
reach what Iām calling ābeing in the zoneā in certain activities if they partake in them
long enough.
End of Log Entry
12. Captainās Personal Log:
Makoto and I were forced to leave the girls in the care of Mona Ross. Both girls are far too
young to be journeying to nearby star systems. I do admit I was anxious leaving them,
however, Kes assured me sheād be the best first officer while I was away.
Nothing horrible transpired while we were gone. I did leave a recording devices running, for
the sake of providing Starfleet with more information on this cultureā¦*
13. āHarva sol labaga along with hava so lawnumg!ā
*computer pause*
āOh no you didnāt just invite my 10 year old to a party at your place while I was away
from home. To hell with regulations, whereās my phaser.ā
14. *resume log*
Makoto and I surveyed the nearby planet of Dancesphere per Starfleetās orders. I was
unfortunately accused of throwing off the queenās groove by the Queenās Chief DJ
shortly after our arrival. Therefore I was sentenced to death by dance.
15. Fortunately, Makoto arrived in the Hall of Music and Dance in time, and broke the
hypnosis from their strange DJ Booth with his power of the Zoneā¦
16. Before the Great and Powerful DJ could start up the booth again, a fellow prisoner whoād
shared my cell the night before, Lena the Musical Thief, selflessly came to our aide.
She reminded the DJ that it was possible for the accused to take part in a trial by dance off,
and thus have the opportunity to prove themselves worthy in the eyes of the Great Muses.
17. Makoto and I were triumphant, and the Queen herself declared us both innocentā¦
and named us friends of the people of Dancesphere until the end of time.
*Computer pause log*
18. Iām never setting foot on that planet again. Ever. The planetās full of crazies.
I mean hell the Queen started insisting that Makoto and Iās arrival had been foretold eons ago. ā You are surely the two
prophesied to have the spirits of the Muses residing within them. Blessed by the gods! I pray, bestow thy great wisdom upon us.ā
She keeps coming to the apartment seeking my wisdom, and not at convenient hours either.
And The Musical Thief has not stopped calling me to profess her undying love. I guess the people of Dancesphere have never
heard of taking advantage of a situation either? I wonder if Captain Kirk ever had this problem?
*Alright, ahem, Computer resume log*
I am extremely touched and honored by such kind gestures. I am grateful that we found a peaceful solution to our conflict. The
people of Dancesphere are indeed a remarkable people. Theyāve changed our lives forever, and I know Makoto and I will never
be able to forget them.
19. Weāve both arrived safely home, and nothing seems too far out of place. Monaās
been sent home and hopefully we wonāt have to request her assistance again
anytime soon.
End Log
20. Captainās Personal Log
Regrettably Starfleet has lost another valued member to tragedy. Yeomen Nederbā¦Najwal,
Nenwal..after a very brief term serving under my commandā¦was killed while helping Makoto and
I protect the citizens of Belladonna from a race of ruthless elderly sims whose entire culture
seems to revolve around imitating biker gangs.
21. Her sacrifice was not in vain. Thanks to her efforts, I was able to negotiate with the leader
of the gang.
22. My sweet Makoto provided his unwavering support watching over the girls so that I might
protect the world Iāve come to call home.
End Log
23. Captainās Log:
My girls are growing up so fast. It seems like only yesterday that I was holding Carol in
my arms. Now sheās ready for her first day of school tomorrow.
24. Carolās personal style seems tamer than her sister. Unfortunately, Carol also
seems to be afflicted with an earlier onset of the insanity that seems to afflict all
Belladonians.
25. She does have her moments of clarity, but I donāt recall Kes seeming this lost at this age.
26. However, recently Kes has developed insomnia or a nocturnal nature. Iām not sure
which. Either way her sleep pattern is erratic.
In order to ensure she continues to attend school normally, and in an attempt to offer
assistance, Iāve installed an alarm system.
27. I hope the sleep pattern problems can be corrected soon. Kes has started to have
some other worrying symptoms such as becoming seemingly unaware of weather
patterns. Just yesterday, she stayed out in the cold to the point that the alarm
system warned me that in normal society social services would be called!
28. Hopefully her recent age transition or rather the approach of said transition was the cause
of her issues, and it was simply a natural hormonal imbalance or phase for this species.
End Log
29. Captainās Log:
I had a scare today. I almost lost my beloved Makoto. One of the residents of our apartment spent
the entire day coming over and knocking on our door. And Makoto, bless him, in his insanity
opened the door each time only to be told repeatedly that he stinksā¦.I thinkā¦.translation of this
Simlish is difficult.
He would not eat. I feared for sure he would starve before I arrived home.
30. It took me far longer than usual to get through to him the importance of eating.
31. Whatever madness took him it thankfully left him before his life gave out
completely.
32. I honestly donāt know what I would have told the girls. Fortunately, I do not have to dwell on
the matter. Makoto is safe and sound.
End Log
33. Well this seems like a good stopping point. Here, have a picture of Makoto
winning that dance off of life and death.
Iām so glad this sweet guy didnāt die.
I love him so muchā¦I feel guilty sometimes about marrying him into this ā¦
34. I mean Mysha can be such a slutā¦..
āIgnore her readers. You know Iām the most awesome captain
ever.ā
35. Besides, Kes told Makoto ages ago about my negotiation methodsā¦..
He just doesnāt remember.
Yeah that makes what you do so much better. *rolls eyes*
See you all next time.
