3. Equilibrium
If a body is said to be in
Equilibrium if it is at state of rest or moving with uniform
motion.
Or
When two are more then two forces act on a body resultant or
combining effect on the body remains is zero
ΣF=0
5. Types of equilibrium
1.Static Equilibrium.
If combine effect of all the forces acting on a body is zero and the
body is in state of rest.
Example.. Book laying on a table
6. Types of equilibrium
2.Dynamic equilibrium
when a body is in state of uniform motion and the resultant of all the
force acting upon it is zero .
7. State of Equilibrium
There are three state of Equilibrium
1. Stable Equilibrium.
A body is said to be in stable equilibrium if it comes
back to its Original position when it is slightly displaced.
Example . A book laying on a table.
8. 2.Unstable Equilibrium.
In unstable equilibrium if a body slightly disturbed
the center of gravity is lower and does not comes to its
position.
Example.
If a pencil kept in vertically and it is slightly
disturbed the center of gravity is lowered
and the pencil falls down and does not
comes to its original position.
