“Achilles”
Narrative:
Achilles has been set a quest by the goddess Athena to reach the peak of Mount
Olympus and if he succeeds; he will win her heart forever. On his journey up the
mountain he will face creatures that live in the mountains; according to myth legend he
will have pass through the home of the mighty Minotaur.
Character & Visual Design:
The characters are based on ancient Greek heros and Mythological creatures. The
game will be in a retro 8 bit style including the characters, location and even the to
music will be in this style. The location is Mount Olympus; “Home of the Olympian
Gods” according to Greek legend. The colour scheme will be dark traditional colours to
match the theme expect from the background as mountain is famously white.
Gameplay & Mechanics:
The game is set out in a 2D platform game style. Achilles will run and climb up ladders
with on coming creatures, he will have to jump over them to pass them. He will carry
on doing this until he reaches the top. There be gaps along the levels so it challenges the
player a lot more. T move left and right you will have to use the left and right arrow
o
keys, to jump is the space button and to activate a lever is the down key.
Levels & Difficulty:
The game will be made up of one level; Mount Olympus. The game can be enjoyed at
all ages but I am to market it at 7 - 15 year olds as starting point to gaming. Also to
educate them on the retro 8 bit 2D platform style at used to rule the gaming world.
