 Provides data about your surroundings in real time.
 Real world elements are augmented by input such as sound, video, graphics
or GPS data.
 Recent device implementations: Microsoft Hololens, Google Glass
 Popular mobile apps: Google Goggles, Layar, Sky Map, Ingress
 Next steps: Seamless identification of all objects, military applications,
educational applications, medical applications, interactive gaming, real time
language translation.

3. Mobile AR, the Technology
 Hardware required is the phone camera,
microphone, speakers, accelerometer and
GPS.
 Image Processing software is the most
important part of AR.
 Firstly, corner detection, blob detection,
edge detection or thresholding used to
detect features/objects.
 Mathematical methods used to compare
detected objects with predefined object
definitions
