partner violence negatively impacts
0-18 year olds.

Overall finding:
Intimate partner violence does have negitive
impacts on 0-18 year olds.
Hypothesis proven to be true.
Parent(s) play a major role in severity of the
abuse impacts on the child.
Parent(s) heavily influence the child in
participating in healthy counseling
methods and interventions.
The main areas that are impacted by intimate partner
violence for children are: social relationships,
emotions, behavior, physical problems, academic
performance.
Problems in school and issues of aggressive behavior
are the most shown signs to indicate that the child
may be exposed to the violence.
The more severe the abuse is – the more impacts seen
in the intensity of displayed behaviors.
Parent(s) typically try to deny that the child has been
exposed to the initiate partner violence taking place.
The best interventions have been seen in building
good rapport with the child, by creating trust and
honesty in the counseling relationship.
