About the company

The concert ticket industry is slowly dropping because most people don’t want to spend so

much money on seeing a concert. With the current state of the economy it’s understandable,

but what if there was a way to not only be able to go to a concert but also donate to a charity

the customer really believes in. That’s where ROCK it! for non-profit comes in. Started in

September of 2010, this company sells tickets 3 days before a show (for shows that aren’t

sold out), and also sells autographed items donated from bands themselves. The company

donates 20% of all the proceeds and put it towards whatever non-profit organization the

customer or band chooses. This company is mostly located in large cities within the United

States, but also has availability online.

Who, What, Why started and mission.

A college student named Jenny Moore started this company. Jenny has seen over 70 big

bands and wanted to have a way that some of the money she put towards these concerts

would also help the world in some way other than putting money into the ticket companies

and promoters pocketbooks. Jenny’s vision is to be able to go to concerts but to have the

money spent go more towards good causes and less towards big corporations. The mission

of ROCK it! for non-profit is to allow avid music fans the opportunity to attend concerts,

but also donate to a worthy cause. With ROCK it! for non-profit, it’s guaranteed that most

of the money spent will go towards those who really need it.
How ROCK it! for non-profit works

ROCK it! for non-profit has worked hard to get over 30 non-profits to allow our customers

to choose from. When the customer purchases a ticket, before they fully checkout, the

customer is given a list of categories for non-profits and they choose one from that list. The

categories include: Children, Animals, Diseases, and Education. When the organization is

chosen, the customer finishes the checkout process and gets a certificate sent to the email

address they provide stating they contributed towards that organization.

Services and products

ROCK it! for non-profit keeps a database of non-profit organizations and makes sure the

customer has plenty to choose from. The types of products one can buy from ROCK it! for

non-profit are tickets for any big concert in a major city, the customer then gets to choose

what charity they want their 20% to go to and items that bands have either used, signed, or

both that have been donated by the members and the proceeds go towards the charity of

their choice.

Customers & Competitors

ROCK it! for non-profit’s target market is around the ages of 16-30 who like to go to

concerts or are very interested in band merchandise. The other target audience is the bands

who want to donate their items. The major competitors are Ticket master and Live Nation.

These are the big name companies of the ticket industry and gain 100% of all the profits.

With ROCK it!, it’s a little gain but a lot to give. A good example of another competitor is

the Theatre Development Fund (TDF). TDF sells last minute Broadway tickets in

Manhattan for 50% off in their 3 TKTS ticket booths. The proceeds go towards the Theatre
Development Fund, which is the nation’s largest performing arts non-profit organization.

This company has helped support over 900 plays since 1968.

The future of ROCK it! for non-profit

Concert ticket sales have dropped dramatically all within a few months. This summer sales

dropped 15% from what they were previously. With ROCK it! for non-profit, there is an

element that no other concert ticket retailer has which is the fact that it gives the customers

more options while letting them know that their money is not only going towards a fun time

but also to the less fortunate.
