2. What is the PDHPE Syllabus?
The syllabus is based upon all aspects of
an individual's wellbeing, including social,
mental, physical and spiritual health.
Trying to help students develop in
knowledge and understanding, skills,
values and attitudes that will enable them
to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.
3. Why is PDHPE important?
PDHPE aims to:
◦ Encourage and understand the value of self and
others
◦ Promotes physical activity
◦ Emphasis informed decision making leading to
effective and responsible action

◦ Physical, social, cognitive and emotional growth and
development patterns
◦ The development and maintenance of positive
interpersonal relationships
◦ The factors influencing personal health choices
◦ Living and learning in a safe secure environment
◦ The adoption of an active lifestyle
◦ Fundamental movement patterns and coordinated
actions of the body
◦ Skills that enable action for better health and
movement outcomes
5. Overall…
PDHPE offers opportunities to students to develop five
important skills: Communication, interacting, decision-
making, moving and problem-solving. These aspects
enable students to grow and develop. They allow students
to develop positive attitudes to life, the value of others
around them and the relationships they gain.
PDHPE allows students to explore and go beyond their
limitations to achieve their goals. It allows students to have
fun and interact with others whilst learning important
information that will help them in their lives.

According to the heart foundation:
1 in 4 Australian
adults are obese
7. Lets overcome obesity
Lets motivate our children to be active at
least 30 minutes a day
This will help them become active and
reduce the risk of any illnesses such as
diabetes and heart conditions
Daily activities include:
running, walking, bike riding, swimming,
dancing and sport training
