3. The building of Aurum has seen series of events and contexts that have never betrayed the
true nature of this place. Since the beginning of the twentieth century its attitude was : "a
place for entertainment and recreation."
The architect Liberi prepared only the plan of the whole area.
4. Only in 1919 the building received a new destination, becoming the seat of the distilleries of
Aurum, the typical and well-known liqueur from Abruzzo.
5. Since 2003 began the renovation of the former distillery, ready to be transformed into a large
multifunctional cultural center.
7. The pinewood Dannunziana is a nature reserve
located in the southern part of the city of
Pescara.
8. The current area of the reserve occupies a vast
territory that for centuries has been covered by an
uninterrupted series of pine forests and
Mediterranean.

marble, containing
a stilyzed ship that
remind the «galea»,
an old rowing boat.
It is intentionally inspired to the seafaring tradition
of Pescara, but there are other interpretations that
consider the sculptur a commemoration of the pains
that Pescara’s prisoners suffered in the Bourbon
fortress, while they were used as rowers on Spanish
ships until 1859.
13. Marina di Pescara is one of the largest boat harbour in Europe
that has received the prestigious international award “the Blue
Flag of Europe”, continuously since 1990, which is given by the
Fee & Fee Environments accommodation to those able to
provide a system of "high quality".

connected with the airport, the railway station and the motorway. It
has an enviable position: the routes for Mediterranean's most

18. “Ponte del mare” is a quite new bridge in Pescara. It was
built only in 2009.
The bridge is supported by steel cables and it links the
southern and norhtern banks of the river Pescara.
19. The preliminary design was made by the engineer
Walter Pichler and the executive project was edited
by the engineer Mario de Miranda.
20. Ponte sul mare is long 466 m and it’s 172 m high.
This bridge is the largest cycleble bridge in Italy.

24. Thanks to him during the Fascism the Province of
Pescara was founded and the two areas in the south
(Pescara) and in the north (Castellammare) were
joined together and formed the city of Pescara.
