The Bay of Bengal Large Marine Ecosystem (BOBLME), considered as LME 34, is one of Asia’s largest and most important maritime zones, covering more than 6.2 million square kilometers of land with mostly a narrow continental shelf around its perimeter (Elayaperumal, Hermes, & Brown, 2019). Over 450 million people rely directly or indirectly on the LME for their food, livelihood and security continuing degradation of the region’s coastal and marine resources caused by human, affects significantly on BOBLME’s ecological, environmental and economic aspects (Fernandes, 2018). This study aims to identify the ecosystem goods and services provided by LME 34 to its society and significant threats caused by human on it bench-marking the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
