4. • IFFCO Kisan Sanchar Ltd.(IKSL)
It is a joint venture company of Bharati Airtel Limited and Indian
Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited.
• It provides value added service.
• provided a major boost to Indian agriculture and the rural economy at
large during 2008.
• The joint venture company will harness the power of telecom to add value
to the farm sector and empower the rural farmer by giving him access to
vital information, which will enhance his livelihood and quality of life.
• Synergizing on IFFCO’s presence in about 98 per cent of villages
throughout the country, Airtel would use IKSL as a vehicle to make its
mobile telecom services reach the rural masses (IFFCO, 2008).

LIMITED (IFFCO)
• IFFCO was formed at the initiative of Cooperative league of USA
(CLUSA) now known as NCBA; and efforts of Government of India
• Registered on 3rd November, 1967 under Multi Unit Cooperative
Societies Act, 1942; Now Multi State Cooperative Societies Act,
2002.
• Has Status of a “National Cooperative Society”.
• Wholly owned by Member Cooperatives.

service providers globally in terms of subscribers.

7. ANNUAL REPORT 2016-17
• Company recorded Gross Revenue of 43,859 lakh during the F.Y.
2016-17 (against 35,212 lakh in F.Y. 2015-16). The Company
recorded Pre-tax Profit of 441 lakh in the year 2016-17 as against
Profit of 837 lakh during the previous year 2015-16. Your company
earned a Net Profit of 290 lakh after making tax provision of 151
lakh during the Financial Year 2016-17.
• In the year 2016-17, the Company attained a growth rate of 19% in
Gross Activation (GAD) with an increase of 3.97 lakh over previous
year, and the Revenue Earning Customer (REC) base increased by
2.39 lakh.
• The company registered a growth rate of 28% in Primary Recharge
Revenue with an all-time high Revenue of 378.00 crore during
2016-17, an increase of 83 core in absolute terms over 2015-16.
