We individually wrote a self evaluation, that consisted of both attributes we believe went well, as well as those that we think we could've improved on during pre production, production and post production.

Pre-production:
What WentWell?
As assistantdirector, bothLaurenandI helpedtoensure thatall taskswere completed, forexample
we allocatedtaskstoeach group member, thismeantthatall roleswere equal andeveryone was
occupiedcarryingoutor completingatask. Thisensuredthatnoone was jobless,andtherefore
were all able tocomplete tasksefficientlyandindetail. All taskswere completedandhandedin well
before the due date. Anotherpositive aspectof pre productionwasthatAlex andI found the song
that we were touse inour musicvideo.Usingourbrief,we lookedthroughartistsassociatedwith
Sony Music Entertainment. We came acrossJamesArthur; a new artist commonlyknownforbeing
the winnerof ‘The X Factor’.Afterdoingsome research,we foundthathe had onlyrecently(4days
afteritsrelease) he hadboughtouta new album, titled‘Backfromthe Edge’. Afterlisteningtoa
fewof hisnewsongs,we agreedthat ourfavourite wastrack one – Back fromthe Edge.We asked
othergroup memberswhoalsoagreed,andthenbegantofigure outa story like.Thiswasanother
positive attributeof ourpre productionwork.Alex andIbeganto thinkabout a basicideaof what
we thoughtwouldbe a capturingstoryassociatedwiththe song. Afterorderchangesandother
ideasthrownabout, Laurenand I thenbeganto annotate the lyricsinthe song(shownpreviouslyon
my blog) and togetherwe createdmore of a detailedstoryline. We workedasa teamto come up
witha storyline thatwe all agreedon.
What couldbe improved?
Due to allocatingjobs, eachteammemberhada variousrange of tasksto complete, althoughsome
teammemberswere notable tocomplete all the tasks, otherswere allocatedmore.IthinkthatI
could’ve beenstricterinaskingpeople tocomplete tasks.Asaresultof teammembersnot
completingtasks,otherteammemberswere askedtodomore.Therefore the workloadbecame
unequal.Ifeel asthoughif we were firmerinensuringteammembersstucktotheirroles,thenI
believethiscouldreducedthe pressure onotherteammembersandeliminatethisissue.
Production:
What WentWell?
Duringthe productionstagesof our project,Iwas allocatedthe jobrole of continuitymanager. This
meansI wasin charge of lookingoutforany small details thatneededtobe exactlythe same. For
example, clothing,Iensuredthatthe appropriate colourswere worn, thatthe same jackets,
trousers, bagsand shoeswere alsoall exactlythe same andthatprops were putinthe correct
places. Anotherpositive partaboutourproductionwasthat we were all involved init, whetherthat
wouldbe to filmoract, or even protectthe camera fromthe pouring rain;we all workedasa team
effectivelytogetall of our filmingdone. We were all inconstantcontactwitheachother and got
alongwell,whichmade ourproductionexperience afunandenjoyable thingtodo.Finally, another
part of productionthatI thinkwentwell wasthateachmemberof vibe productionsgotachance to
film.Asnotall memberswantedtobe inthe musicvideo, whenatleastone otherpersonwasnot
on cameratheyhad the abilitytofilm.Thisenabledustoputour learntskillsintopractice and
ensure everyonehadachance to film. We alsomanagedto stick to ourallocatedtime slotstofilm.

What couldbe improved?
If we were to correct or improve anypart of our productionprocess,Iwouldsaythat our
organisationof datescould’ve beenbetter. Forexample,filmingdateswere changedabout3times,
due to manydifferent causes, whichmade ourpre productionprocessslightlymore stressful aswe
wantedtobeginfilmingassoonas our pre productionworkhadbeencompletedandfinalised.
Anotherpartof our productionthatcould’ve beenimprovedonwaspunctuality. Forexample,some
membersof the groupwouldsometimes turnuplate to filming, althoughmembersmayhave not
beenneededtobe filmedatthose times,Ithinkthat itis still importanttoturnup to filmingasand
whenthe call sheetssay.
Post production:
What WentWell?
I believethatpostproductionwentverywell. Forexampleourediting wasa strongpointof our
project,we all sat togetherandgave our input, we discussedwhatshotsfilmed we wouldlike touse
and and whatparts of the chosenshotswasbestto include.Secondly,we werethe firstgroupto
complete oureditdecisionlist, followedbyourfinal project.Thismeantwe hadmore time to doany
furtheredits toeitherourfilmorindividual blogs withoutbeingrushedfortime. Afterwe hadall
decidedonbeingcompletelyfinishedwithourmusicvideo,we uploadedittoYouTube. Following
this,we tookthe opportunityandbeganto uploadall of our workand generallyeditourblogs.
Finally,we were all happywiththe wayourfinal projectlookedandthe waythe projecthad run,in
all,we workedtogetherasa team. We alsomanagedtoget over300 viewsof ourmusicvideoon
YouTube. We all became muchmore confidentineditingusingthe software the more we useditand
helpedeachotherandso itwas an enjoyableprocess.
What couldbe improved?
At the beginningof postproduction,we hadbeguntodoour editdecision list;if we were togoback
and improve on itwe could’ve possiblydone all of ourshots.(185 insteadof only100) Aswell as
this,we could’ve alsoincluded some more detail inthe shotdescription.Towardsthe beginningof
editingourproject, the amount of editingdone by eachperson, wasunequal. Some groupmembers
didmore than othersbut that may have beenbecause theywere nervous to,incase something
wentwrong. But we were able to helpeachotherand learn the skillsof editing, andsobythe end
everyone inthe grouphaddone some editing.
