5. Elitetele.com PLC was set up in 2000 by
successful tech entrepreneur, Matt Newing.
With just two staff members, Elite began by
selling memorable phone numbers to UK
businesses.
It wasn’t long before the business
was providing the full ecosystem of
communications solutions, with bespoke
telecoms contracts and beneficial multi-tier
solutions that allowed companies to escape
the shackles of expensive carrier contracts.
It is this impartial offering and consultative,
independent approach that led to Elite’s early
success.
Constantly keeping ahead of the market in
a fast changing industry, Elite completed its
first acquisition in 2008 in a bid to refocus its
products and skillset. Since then, Elite have
continued on the acquisition trail, positioning
itself as the leading unified communications
provider. The goal changed from providing
PBX telephone systems and network
level call features, to transforming the way
business communicate with hosted and next
generation technology.
Elite has grown on average 20% year on
year since 2008 and throughout one of
the worst recessions ever recorded in UK
history. This growth is set to continue with
a tight senior management team, a sound
acquisition and organic growth plan and
investment into future led voice, network and
data centre services.
In 2014 the acquisition of a state of the art
data centre meant that Elite officially became
an ISP with carrier capabilities. Data centre
investments combined with the significant
expansion of the Elite core network
infrastructure have established the group as
a market leader.

About: Matt Newing
Matt Newing is an ambitious tech entrepreneur with nearly
20 years entrepreneurial experience in building successful,
national and international businesses through both
organic growth and growth by acquisition. Matt has built
and bought in excess of 15 businesses across the
technology sector including data centre, cloud, unified
comms and mobile.
Having set up his first company at the age of just 23
years old, Matt is an advocate for young entrepreneurs
and always welcomes young people to pitch their ideas for
investment or mentorship.
Matt has personally mentored and trained the majority of
Elite’s board, leading to a tight senior management team able to
efficiently lead and grow the business with an intuitive mixture of
innovation and acquisition. Matt believes that people are his greatest
asset and continues to sustain the drive and determination in every person in the
business.
Matt won the EN North West Technology Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2014.
