As our Product Developer II for Apparel for GPA, you'll utilize productand process knowledge to execute the
developmentand on-time commercialization ofassigned styles.You'll be responsible for productcommercialization of
assigned styles.You'll research and understand manufacturing capabilities in order to be able to anticipate problems,
facilitate problem-solving and address issues in a timely manner.You'll also communicate with vendor managers,
regional and liaison offices,productteam members and others to ensure a smooth productdevelopmentproces s.
You'll work to understand the risks associated with styles and constantlybe aware of backup strategies to counteract
those risks.You'll ensure prototypes accurately reflect construction specifications.Furthermore,you'll coordinate with
engineering,liaison office,API, Lab, Raw Materials and Coloristin critiquing prototypes and other submissions as
necessary.You'll ensure all appropriate developmentdocumentation is maintained for assigned styles,including
productspecs and prototype notes.You'll create and revise garmentBill of Materials for assigned styles.You'll also
collaborate with the Category productteam to understand and accomplish seasonal productconcepts and initiatives.
You'll participate in fit sessions and/or productreview with the Category productteam regarding assigned styles.
You'll identify key issues in productconstruction,material selection,manufacturing and pricing.You'll collaborate on
resolutions in a timely manner.In addition,you'll maintain data on productdevelopmentstatus deadlines and
communicate information to team members.
Qualifications
Requirements for the position include:
Bachelor's degree in apparel/textile design,technology,merchandising,engineering,industrial engineering
or related field required
2+ years' apparel textile industryexperience required
Knowledge ofPC applications
Knowledge ofapparel construction,material construction and properties,costing,pattern making,
embroideryand screen-printing
Good understanding ofdesign,developmentand merchandising process from inception through production
Effective verbal and written communication skills including presentations
Ability to clearly articulate policies and instructions
Proficientinformation-seeking skills and a drive for results
Ability to share ideas and develop effective responses or elevate to higher management
Ability to network and utilize internal and external resources
Ability to exercise a high degree of professionalism
Knowledge oftextile manufacturing
Knowledge ofgarmentfit
Ability to read productspecs and understand relationships
Understanding ofthe productcreation process
Ability to work with a diverse group of people
