NVMe over Fabric Solution
NVMe over Fabrics (NVMe-oF) is a technology
designed to enable NVMe message-based
commands to transfer data between a host
computer and a target solid-state storage
device or storage system over a network such
as Ethernet, Fibre Channel and InfiniBand.
OakGate plans to provide a solution to support
NVMe over Fabric. Detail specifications for this
solution are still in development. This
document provides a high level summary of
OakGate’s planned NVMe over Fabric solution.

o OakGate 3U Rack-mount appliance running OakGate SVF software with NVMe over fabric
support*
o One or more single/dual-port host adapter cards supporting up to 100Gb/s speeds
o The host adapter cards must be connected to an external device(s) using a compatible NVMe
fabric device that runs Open Fabrics Alliance NVMe over Fabric driver
o Initial functionality:
Traffic generation
Performance measurement
Data validation
Protocol analyzer
o Customer sets up network connection between the host and the target
o Upgrade to advanced NVMe over Fabric functionality as it becomes available
*Refer to Initial functionality above. Certain advanced functionality for NVMe fabric, such as the ability
to read and write registers, automated set up, low level error injection, etc. is not included in the initial
version.
