RE: Michael Olivola Letter of Recommendation
To Whom It May Concern,
Carfaro Inc. was recently purchased by Fairway Building Products, essentially creating the nation’s
largest provider of aluminum, composite, and PVC railing for the Multifamily, Single Family Residential,
and Hospitality Industries.
As National Sales Manager for the newly-formed entity, my role includes not only the direct supervision
of the sales staff, responsible for combined sales of over $35mm annually, but also direct management
of the estimating department via which all bids must pass. Combining the products of the two entities,
Carfaro and Fairway Building Products, into a easy to use format, presented unique challenges for the
estimating staff, who had neither the time nor resources to create a new bid format for which to facilitate
the bidding process and consolidate the product lines of the two (distinctively different) organizations.
When discussing some of my challenges and concerns with an outside associate, Michael Olivola was
introduced to me as somebody who could perhaps be of assistance. While originally skeptical because
I could not quite grasp how a ‘business outsider’ would be able to facilitate the complex issues specific
to our business, I decided to speak with Michael to ‘pick his brain’. Within minutes of the beginning of
our correspondence, it was apparent that Michael’s unique talents and skill set were the right choice for
me to select him for involvement in this critical exercise.
Based on the copious notes which Michael took during our original conference, Michael was not only
quickly able to provide me with his outline for my project, but had already started building a new pricing
worksheet for my estimating staff, easily incorporating the 2,000+ additional product offerings into a
new format which I never could’ve even imagined, let alone implemented on my own.
After a few short weeks of working through this project with Michael, my observations are his enormous
strength in the following areas:
 Superior analysis of complex issues
 Extreme proficiency with MS Excel
 Ability to understand the unique needs of a multimillion dollar business
 Delivering projects quickly and accurately within the restraints of an extremely
tight deadline
 Conducting himself professionally in a fast-paced corporate environment
 Led project implementation discussions with staff members not as well-versed in
technical terminology, understanding their specific requirements while reporting
back in ‘layman’ terms
 Works extremely well with others in a collaborative environment
