administrative charge of over 250 sworn and unsworn administrative personnel.
Police Lieutenant 1983-1987

Watch Commander. Supervised and monitored activities of police officers, provided
direction and control necessary for smooth and consistent workflow. Transformed
inexperienced recruits into street-ready Police Officers via familiarization with police

Patrolled high crime area near Newark border. Team Police project encouraged the
collaboration with community residents and police to fight crime. Conducted raids and
ordered detention of witnesses and suspects for questioning. Evaluated complaints and
emergency-request information to determine response requirements.
Patrolman 1973-1976
Patrolled specific area on foot. Recorded facts and prepared reports to document
activities. Testified in court to present evidence and act as witness in traffic and criminal
cases. Promoted to Radio Car Patrol. Investigated traffic accidents and other accidents to
determine causes and whether a crime had been committed. Evaluated complaint and
emergency-request information. Maintained order, responded to emergencies, protected
people and property, and enforced motor vehicle and criminal law.
