American Friends of Meir Panim is a nonprofit organization committed to alleviating poverty in the country of Israel. For over a decade now they have been helping to provide relief within a country that continues to suffer from hunger, poverty, and continuous struggle.

families live below the poverty line and cannot afford to feed themselves or their children. Meir
Panim’s Meals for Children program is designed to ensure that these poverty-stricken children
receive at least one hot meal a day in order to ensure the quality of their overall health.

All of Meir Panim’s free restaurants have a relaxing atmosphere where patrons can
come and enjoy some aspect of their normal life again. Since many of these free
restaurants are people's main source for a hot and nutritious meal, they get used to
seeing the same faces time and time again. Meir Panim understands that a sort of
camaraderie develops between the patrons that make them feel welcome and more
comfortable.
