platforms.

The use of various online platforms has helped my
to create my own content, making my blog more
visually pleasing to the reader

the differences there are between how people use the internet the carry out practical skills.
E.g.
Residents vs Visitors
How people engage with the internet, dependent on their agenda.
Digital Differences
Macro and micro factors that contribute to the use of digital tools such as educational level or
economic status.

5. E- SAFETY
• Improvement of online privacy settings which have helped me to control who can
access my profiles.
• Careful of the posts I post and feature in online
• All my usernames are true to self to appear authentic, despite being private.
• e.g. @Megpadgett or @megpadgettt_
• Usernames that are not a representation of who is running them, is at risk of trying to
be appear anonymous online.

6. CULTURAL AND SOCIAL
UNDERSTANDING
• The use of the internet throughout the blog has allowed me to come across more of a
culturally diverse set of people.
• Within the MOOC, there were people not only from the UOSM2008 course, but from
anywhere in the world connecting and sharing experiences through the use of
comments and discussions.
• This is something I would not have participated in before the UOSM2008 course.

7. COLLABORATION
Through use of the MOOC, I have understood how to
participate in discussions, in an educational context.
I am more cautious in my online contributions.
Through my ability to collaborate online, my ability to
build discussion has improved.

• Content curation is the process of gathering information relevant to a particular topic
or area of interest
• Through use of multiple online sources and commenting on other people’s blogs I
have improved my ability to develop opinions and discussions that are interesting to
me.
