name or product directly linked with the
event.

money but it may also be in the form of
donations of equipment or resources.

O It can be a good way of increasing the
awareness of a brand or product.
O It can also be used to create a permanent
association of a brand with the activity or
event.
O If a certain brand advertised with a football
team that team might feel good about the
brand when the see it as the associate it
with their football team.
4. Disadvantages
O Where as if the rival football team sees
the advert and associates it with their
rivals they may not want to buy the
product as it doesn’t support them.
O And if a business supports an event that is
not a success and no one liked it this may
reflect on the businesses sales and
popularity.
