Target Audience Of A Film Magazine

 1. 1. Target Audience of a film magazine
 2. 2. At a glance this magazine doesn’t look like a film magazine it looks like a men's glossy magazine. This edition of Empire magazine looks as though it is targeted at the male gender. Megan Fox is posing on the front very seductively, not wearing a lot. I don’t think this appeals to women as much as it does to men. The second biggest writing on the cover is the name “Megan Fox” this is obviously trying to draw in the male attention. But will also appeal to other audiences because she is a big, well known actress.
 3. 3. “ The Hot Issue” is trying to make the magazine seem more individual from the other issues they have released. Obviously Empire is very popular with movie addicts but the fact that it’s “The Hot Issue” makes the magazine sound more improved than usual, which could attract a new audience. For example younger males. Megan fox on the front reflects on this quote because she is seen as being “hot” to a wide audience. This Quote could attract women to read this magazine because they might wander why she is the “Most wanted girl in Hollywood”.
 4. 4.

This magazine is definitely aimed at Sci Fi lovers the main films advertised on the magazine are… Transformers, Wolverine, Star Trek and Angels and Demons. Empire are guaranteed to catch the attention of this audience, by advertising a bunch of films which have the same genre.

 5. 5.

This quote reassures the audience that Empire is the best magazine on the market. This will influence people to buy the magazine over a magazine like Total film.

Overall I think that empire magazine is mainly aimed at the male audience it comes across quite masculine unlike Total Film magazines which comes across a lot more broad.
