Safety Precautions to be Observed for Manicure / Pedicure Services are as
follows:
• Keep all of the containers labeled and covered.
• Make sure your hands are dry when holding and storing containers.
• Carefully handle sharp-pointed tools and avoid dropping them.
• Dull over the edges of sharp tools with an emery board.
• Bevel the sharp edge of the nail with an emery board.
• Do not file too deeply into the corners of the nails.
• Do not use a sharp-pointed tool to clean the lower part of the free edge of the
nail.
• If the skin is accidentally cut, apply antiseptic immediately
• Do not push the cuticle back too far.
• Do not work on a fingernail or toenail when the surrounding skin is swollen or
infected.

Sanitary Measures to be Followed When Giving Manicure/Pedicure Services
• After each use, the manicure tools must be cleaned and disinfected.
• Place soiled materials in closed containers or plastic bags attached to the
manicure table.
• Use a disinfectant to clean the manicure table and put everything in place.
• Clean the upper part of the nail polish bottle with a nail polish remover.
• Inspect the drawer of the manicure table for order and cleanliness.
• Wash and dry your hands.
