The greater Sylhet region including Moulavibazar, Sunamganj and Habiganj is blessed with vast waterbodies and enriched with haor fisheries. As a result, in every year huge amount of large & small indigenous fish species such as Boal, Shol, Gozar, Ayre, Rui, Catla, Mrigal, Punti, Mola, Dhela, Taki, Tengra, Guchi Baim, Chanda, Chela, Chapila, Darkina, Batasi etc. are caughut from these haors. Traditional drying is generally took place with the bulk catches from the haor region during monsoon season. This study is based on the "Present Status of Dried Fish in Different Fish Market of Sylhet Town".

3. OBJECTIVES
To know-
• demand of dried fish in the Sylhet town
• diversity of dried fish in different market
• quality of available dried fish
• origin of the dried fish
• transportation of the dried fish
• hygiene condition of the dried fish
• stock of dried fish in Sylhet town
• adaptive approaches to increase supply as well as demand for dried fish in Sylhet region
On basis of above objectives we have a clear concept about that the dried fish have greater demand
in Sylhet.
4. MATERIALS AND METHOD
• Firstly I have selected four (4) dried fish markets:
1) Lalbazar Dried Fish Market
2) Shahi Eidgah Dried Fish Market
3) Major Tila Dried Fish Market
4) Baluchar Dried Fish Market
• Then, a prepared questionnaire was analyzed by an oral conversation with the buyer and seller.
• On basis of their response I compiled and analyzed information to get result.
