2. Buddi Pooja is:
• A cultural practice that is practiced by, in this case people
from shirlanka.
• They practice this because they believe they willl be blessed if
they do so by the buddah.
• For 3 months , august, september, and october to be
exact, they have this cultural ceremony every single Saturday.
• Different families sponser these ceremonies each
Saturday, someone is needed to bring food for dinner for
everyone in the temple, for bringing flowers, and anything
else that was needed for the ceremony.

4. Wardrobe
• women wore long decorative and or plain skirts. Some
actually wore jeans and the dressed preety casual.
• men also wore casual clothing like jeans and t-shirts except
for the three monks .
• The monks wore long orange robes and they had no hair , in
otherwords, bald.

6. Ritual behaviors
• Preparation: they clean , prepare offerings for the 28
buddahs, set up flower buqets, and prepare candles to be
passed around.
• During the actual ritual, they get in a semi circle
formation, and while they chant, they pass the flower buquets
around along with the candles, inscence, and a small dish with
ginger, sour candy, garlic, a certain type of herb, and 8 small
cups with beverages such as watermelon juice, apple
juice, tea, water, orange soda, lime lemonade, and pink
lemonade.
• Later they go into the temple after all their buddahs have
received their offerings. There they pray, chant, and the
monks start to speak of moral stories, things that have to do
with buddah, in a way preach.
7. • A few people revolve around the tree that reperesents where
Buddah reached enlightenment, they then poor water that
contains inscence onto the tree and go into the temple.
• When everyone arrives at the temple they all sit on rugs and
or cushons on the floor , below the buddah.

• During prayer, they all hold on to a string.
