•Our agency has been awarded funding for 10 New Hire officers to fill police jobs that were
unfunded and left vacant due to recent local budget shortfalls.
•Our agency has been awarded funding for 10 New Hire officers to fill police officer jobs.
•Local budget problems have delayed hiring efforts, as overtime budgets have been cut
dramatically, and two of the three backgrounds detectives were recently reassigned to staff
January 1, 2010 patrol vacancies resulting from unanticipated long-term vacancies including family
March 31, 2010 medical and military leave.
•This quarter we have been interviewing new officers, but per grant requirements are
making efforts to fill locally funded vacancies first.
•No officers have been hired yet under the grant, but we will continue our efforts.
