- Normalmente na subluxação de cotovelo aparece com História de repentina tração no
membro superior (Puxar o braço), seguida de imediato aparecimento de dor, é frequente.
- O paciente recusa usar o membro afetado, que é mantido ao longo do corpo em pronação.
Qualquer tentativa de mobilizar o membro aumenta a dor e o estresse da criança.
- O exame radiológico para a lesão é negativo, mas deve ser feito abrangendo todo o
membro superior já que fratura de clavícula ou fratura subperiosteal do antebraço podem se
apresentar clinicamente da mesma forma.

- Essa situação certamente é mais frequente do que se pensa, pois muitos casos são
resolvidos fora do âmbito da ortopedia ou podem reduzir-se de forma espontânea.
- Costumam incidir por volta dos 2 ou 3 anos de vida, sendo muito raras após os 5 anos,
quando a corda oblíqua adquire características biomecânicas que impossibilitam a saída da
cabeça radial da sua posição original. A maioria dos pacientes é do sexo feminino, sendo o
lado esquerdo o mais acometido
