2. BLIND DRAWING
• Choose a subject you want to draw. Try to remember the
basic shape and feature of the subject you chose.
• Locate your pencil and your bond paper. Close your eyes
and try to draw your chosen subject.
• Observe the drawing you’ve just created.

• Drawing is the ability to see shape and relationships
between shapes.
• You already have this ability and would just need practice
to enhance.

7. HOLDING YOUR PENCIL
•Basic Tripod Grip – this grip is the same as
what you use for writing. You use your
fingers and thumb to control the pencil and
the hand can rest on the page.

9. HOLDING YOUR PENCIL
•Extended Tripod Grip – it is the same as the
basic grip where your thumb, forefinger and
middle finger forms a triangle except that
you further up the hold of your pencil.

•Overhand Grip – the pencil is braced lightly
against the fingers and thumb. This grip
allows you to shade using the side of the
pencil.
