8. GROUND FLOOR
The ground floor featured a generous lounge
space that flowed nicely into the formal
dining area. The beautiful bay window in the front
was highlighted with new window treatments
and the brick fireplace created a focal point for
the room. New furniture and lighting updated
and modernized the room, and new timber
flooring accented the neutral pallet and created a
warmer environment throughout.
FIRST FLOOR
Upstairs, the bedrooms all got a fresh coat
of paint and generous built-in wardrobes and
the toilet and separate washroom area were
refreshed with new finishes and updated
fixtures which utilized space and completed the
renovation.
THE GOAL
This project was an interior renovation
of a beautiful terrace house in London’s
North end. Our goal was to increase the
standard of tenants in their rental property
and maximize space. The landlords wanted
a high end, professional and modern touch
to their residence to attract young professionals
looking for a homey, comfortable space to rent.
KITCHEN AND DINING
The window treatments and lighting were
repeated in the dining area to offer continuity
throughout the space and the wall in the
kitchen was opened to create a breakfast bar
area and expand the space even more. The
kitchen area received a complete overhaul
with new finishes, fixtures and bespoke built-
ins to manage clutter.
The Victorian terrace house is by far one of the most prevalent housing types found throughout London.
Its floor plan is rather formulaic which one might think leaves very little room for imaginative design,
save for a 500k spend or more, as is often featured in the city’s print media. With some foresight by
working with a talented architect and interior designer there are indeed ways to achieve exciting,
modern spaces well suited to today’s more casual living standards on a more modest budget.
