1. UniWyo Federal Credit Union to deploy Zipwhip Landline Text Messaging
UniWyo Federal Credit Union has joined with Zipwhip, a cloud-based texting provider, to advance
two-way customer service experience for its 24,000 members.
Zipwhip enables Loan Officers, Member Services Representatives, and Collection Agents to send and
receive text messages from their existing landline phone numbers, which pushes texts to clients’
default messaging app on their mobile phone. With growing adoption in the banking and financial
sector, two-way texting is seeing success with reducing hold times, call abandonment, and improving
member experiences.
Many credit unions offer automated alert notifications, but these one-way services are not taking
full advantage of consumers’ communication preferences. "Automated alerts are useful, but static
and limited," says John Lauer, Zipwhip CEO. "These legacy services still require members to go to a
branch or place a call to take action. Two-way texting is an essential tool to reach and engage
members, especially the millennial generation who are forming relationships with brands for the
first time as an adult."
UniWyo Federal Credit Union has been serving the Laramie Community for over 60 years. With their
commitment to providing members the best advice and resources available, text messaging is
another tool to educating and communicating with members.
"It is our mission to always bring value to our membership through the products and services we
offer," said Bill Froehlich, Vice President of IT at UniWyo. "Landline texting allows us to be there to
connect members with the information they need using the medium they prefer.”
