Project Manager of a prototype development project for Yamaha Australia/Japan. This included concept, planning,
engineering and strategising through to manufacture of all components, Assembly testing and research and
devlopment.
The position also included fit out of facilities, hiring and team building, setting goals and standards of twenty-six
internal staff and up to thirty external contractors across three countries.
Throughout this project it was necessary to work with all management and teams to complete a very aggressive time
frame and standard of not only looks but functionality, budget and safety.
Our team completed the project on time and on budget. The project has now been handed to Head Office in Japan.
The project will at this stage go into mass production, concluding my position at Yamaha.
Offroad and Custom Pty Ltd October 2013 – October 2015
Over Manager Director
Design; research and development, Prototyping, sourcing external contracts, manufacture, quality control, and
customer sales and service ranging from Four Wheel Drive and Offroad Racing components to chassis and turn key
products.
Diverse hands on skills of the following:
Welding, lathe turning, milling, tube bending and notching, and fabrication.

Foreman
Foreman in charge of fabrication, welding, design and production. Daily work included:
Stock control, managing a 6 member team, building maintenance, fabrication, design and installation; including
interaction with clients and engineers.

2. Cheezy Racing Pty. Ltd. 2002-2010
Owner/Manager/ Director
Employing and managing eight staff, implementing staff team building and skills development. Cheezy Racing Pty.
Ltd. included the design, structure, implementation, engineering, prototyping, research and development and the
manufacture ranging from Four Wheel Drive and Offroad components to turn key products. Products were sold both
nationally and internationally.
All Out Plumbing Pty. Ltd. 1994-2002
Owner/ Manager/ Director
Managing twenty-two plumbers and three office staff. Mainly concentrated on multi units, multi stories and
commercial work. The role included site management, quotations, customer and site manager communications,
design and ordering. Also included installation, commissioning and follow up maintenance and service.

Letter of Reference – Mark Cheeseman
Dear Sir / Maam
Mark worked with Yamaha on a research and development project for the period October 2015 through to
September 2016. The project involved the design manufacture and testing of a complex craft. The craft included
multiple engines, with electronic power plant control, carbon composite structure and complex mechanical control
systems. For confidentiality reasons I cannot disclose the exact nature of the product.
Mark was employed as the workshop manager and assembly lead for the craft. During that time Mark managed the
assembly and integration of the drivetrain test rig, the load test article and the final operational prototype. Mark
managed a team of up to 20 during the assembly phase.
As the project matured into an operational testing phase Mark managed a team of twelve to meet the daily
operating schedule. This involved ensuring the craft was serviceable and ready for test as well as managing regular
servicing’s and system teardowns to fault find and modify during the testing phase.
Throughout the project Mark showed a level of dedication and ownership that was both inspiring and tireless, often
Mark would work 80 or more hours in a week in order to achieve a deadline. Mark led his team brilliantly and they
achieved great things in a short timeframe.
I would work with Mark anytime as he is an incredibly open minded and extremely effective leader. He is highly
regarded by all who worked for or with him and I know he will succeed at whatever comes next. It is very sad that
the project came to an end and Marks position ceased to exist.

business. In this arena he was well liked, successful and highly regarded. The Cheezy Racing name became
synonymous with quality Australian made product. His sportsmanship and attitude endeared him to other
motorsport competitors.
Since leaving the Offroad scene, Mark Cheeseman has worked for Yamaha Motor Australia for 18 months.
Mark’s role started as Assembly/Factory manager for a confidential project. His tasks initially included specifying
equipment and processes required, outfitting facilities and building the team to manufacture and assemble the
project. Mark was able to maintain confidentiality, manage the factory and meet the needs of the project easily.
