1. FINDINGS:
As part of cost reduction projects on Cylinder blocks
V8 (5.0L & 5.7L) & L4 (3.0L) production parts, the
multidisciplinary group worked to take out
machining operations as well as material weight
reduction.
I was responsible to fix the dimensional interference
on cylinder head assembly V8 (5.7L), industrial
application without stop production, interference
between valve retainer vs cylinder head casting.
I was responsible to coordinate Legacy Work
project which meanly consist in modify and create
Cylinder Block water jackets NX math data and test
with finite element analysis according to
specification that engineers from Detroit appointed.
For V6 (4.3L) engine manufactured in Detroit
Romulus, I was directly involved in two process
reviews with weekly findings verification follow up.
As part of the Timing Change tensioner project
which consist in reduce noises from balancer shaft,
I redesigned the front face Cylinder Block V6 (4.3L)
following the new front chain cover. Teem receive
the "PEOPLE MAKES QUALITY HAPPEN" award.
To reduce engine emission, I redesign the left and
back side L4 (3.0L) Cylinder Block to have provision
to retain knock sensor as well as to retain crank
shaft sensor.
2. I made some minor Familia 1 Gen 3 (1.6L) Cylinder
head Valves redesign changes to relocate its
manufacture, from Korea to TRW Mexico,
engineering responsibility was in Opel Germany.
I made the Familia 1 Gen 3 (1.6L) 4 front covers
engineering manufacture relocating, from Korea to
Plastitec Lerma in Mexico.
To transfer Aluminum SGE (1.0L) cylinder head
engineering responsibilities to Mexico, I made a
casting and machining study.
I was involved in all maintenance Cylinder Block,
Cylinder Head, Valve train issues like PTRS, production
changes, etc.
