Exposition Château de Trévarez ( décembre 2010)

1. A Christmas Tale Inspired by N. Gogol

2. Once upon a time in small village in Ukraine

4. One Christmas night, Oksana was getting ready to join a group of youngsters to go and visit people in the village as it was the tradition

5. Everybody was having fun and Oksana didn’t notice Valouka.

7. Valouka knew the devil never liked him and had always said he would help him to convince Oksana, which he never did of course. But Valouka was cunning and managed to have the devil fly him to the czarina’s palace.

8. They got to the Palace and the czarina accepted Valouka’s request.

9. Valouka could choose the pair of shoes he was looking for 

10. There was the most beautiful pair of boots with golden thread 

11. But Valouka had forgotten his mother, the witch who did all she could to prevent Valouka from marrying as she wanted to marry Oksana’s father.

12. But eventually all ended well…

13. … and the two lovers got married in the village church.

14. These lovely dolls can be seen in Trévarez in Brittany – France until the beginning of January 2011
