Dear Sir or Madam:
I feel qualified to comment on Maribel Vega’s academic, interpersonal, and professional qualities having had
Maribel as a student in my Integrated Business Foundations course and my Management of Organizations course.
The Integrated Business Program, a new program at the University of Central Florida, is designed to provide students
with a diverse tool set and integrative skills so that they can successfully navigate the volatile and challenging
marketplace facing today’s business graduates. The program is designed to develop strong leaders with the ability to
integrate a wide range of technical and soft skills to achieve a common objective. Students will understand the languages
of: technology, finance, B2B and B2C selling, economics, human resource management, and project management. They
will be dynamic contributors with a holistic view of the organization who are able to think critically and make ethical,
data-driven decisions.
Integrated Business Foundations is one of the first courses an Integrated Business major takes when completing the
degree requirements established by the College of Business Administration. The course requires the student to
demonstrate a broad and comprehensive set of skills and abilities. More specifically, the course requires: 1) a strong
understanding of the various functional areas of business and an ability to apply that knowledge to resolve relatively
complex business problems, 2) a demonstration of proficiency in both verbal and written communication, 3) the ability
to function effectively in a team-oriented environment, 4) the ability to adapt to a fast paced changing work environment,
and 5) a comprehensive skill set in conflict resolution and negotiation.
Throughout both courses, Maribel has demonstrated that she is an enthusiastic student with a genuine interest in
her academic assignments. She is a quick learner and an adept problem solver who is capable of drawing
conclusions and implications from the material to which she is exposed. Maribel is a team player and
demonstrates the ability to work effectively in group situations. In addition, she is quite personable and is well
liked by the students with whom she works.
Sincerely,
Leslie Connell
