Benefits of Integrated Services
37. System Integrity Management (SIM)
• It allows the client to consolidate
it’s overall flange management
within a single system and
encompasses flange
management, cleaning,
inspection, testing & leak testing.
• Considerable savings can be
realised in preparatory works due
to electronic test pack
compilation, storage & change
system.
• EnerMech have developed a bespoke software package called SIM
38. EnerMech have made a significant investment in SIM to address many of the inefficiencies
that are prevalent within the pre-commissioning / shutdown activities:
• Inaccuracy of test packs (manual recording / typing of line / valve / joint No’s etc)
• Length of time taken to engineer TP’s due to manual input
• Changing TP limits / updating P&ID’s results in re-engineered and rewritten TP’s
• Paper TP’s cannot be re-used, modified or re-issued for similar scopes
• Existing flange management systems are not user friendly or “life of asset”
• No real time “up to date” progress monitoring on major projects
SIM – Current Industry Issues
39. • Records details joint assembly, tightening, testing and maintenance
• Calculates Torque / Tension loads with any lubricant or any tool manufacturer.
• Data access can be via P&ID, ISO or via a spreadsheet
• Produces work instructions and Joint Completion Certificates
• Maintains database record and history of all joints.
• Instant and visual reporting as to the status of the plant / system.
• Real time access to flange information via secure web based link
SIM – Flange Management
41. • Simplified electronic development of system work packs for:
• Pneumatic / Hydrostatic Strength Testing
• Flushing / Camera Inspection
• Nitrogen Purging / Nitrogen Helium Leak Testing
• TP’s automatically generated following electronic mark up of drawings
• Engineering, review and approval time reduced, accuracy increased
• Change system limits or new drawing revisions with minimal effort
• TP’s are available electronically and can be modified and re-used year on year
• Operational progress reporting via secure web log in
SIM – Work Pack Generation

Leak Test Work Pack
System P&ID Mark-Up
44. SIM – Sample Flange Management Output
Prior to walk-thru, SIM checked for flange status: Red
tags are assembled but not tightened.
Visual reference gives a higher degree of confidence
the leak test will proceed without issues.
Leak test overlaid to confirm all flanges within
test have been tightened.
Leak test completed and all flanges
appear green based on test results.

Summary
During the execution of the work packs the engineer will update SIM with the status of each work pack. I.e. prepped, tested, reinstated, and the status of each joint in the flange management database. This information will be readily available for the client on site where the work is being carried out, but an update can be uploaded to the EnerMech server at the end of each day, or whatever interval is required, so that the client can obtain remote access to the information.
