4. Orchids
● Orchids or Orchidaceae tribe is a tribe of
flowering plants with a member of the
majority. Type-species is widespread
from the humid tropics to the circumpolar
region, although most of its members are
found in the tropics. Most members of
this tribe lived as epiphytes, especially
those from tropical regions.
5. Other facts about orchids
● Orchids in temperate climates usually live in
the soil and form tubers as a means to adapt
to winter. Organs which tends to be thick and
"fleshy" (succulent) makes it withstand the
pressure of water availability. Epiphytic orchids
can live from the dew and damp air.
Orchidaceae is the source of inspiration of the
name Argo Anggrek train, railroad executive
who serves Surabaya Pasar Turi-Gambir.
