Virtusa has identified a major inefficiency in time logging in the internal system with respect
to project team members. Current expectation is for completion of time entry in the internal
system prior to the month-end date, which is not being met. The timely capture of statistics
is essential in various aspects and is crucial for organizational success.
Following points were taken into consideration when analyzing the problem.
• Access to internal system is facilitated via personal mobile devices as well as office
laptops.
• Some projects are FP - Fixed Price projects.
• Some projects, PM and team members are located in multiple countries.
• Most projects, majority of software engineers allocated in contrast to QA/ BA resources.
The case study is conducted with aims to identify the root causes and to propose
improvements through the analysis.
