2. The history of car travel began in 1769
with the creation of a steam-powered car
and could carry people on board. In 1806,
vehicles equipped with internal
combustion engines operating with liquid
fuel appeared. Around 1900, electric
motor vehicles also appear. The car is
quickly established in developed countries
as the main means of transport. The
automotive industry is booming, especially
after the Second World War. If at the
beginning of the 20th century there were
several hundreds of thousands, at the
beginning of the post-war period there
were over 500,000 cars worldwide, as in
2007 the annual world production
exceeded 70 million units.
3. There are many different means of transport. Sometimes we can't imagine
how people could live without cars, buses, trains and planes many years ago.
Some people prefer travelling by car, others think that it's dangerous and polluts
the environment. Whatever your views, there's no doubt that travelling by car
has both many advantages, and a lot of disadvantages.
4. We can travel wherever and whenever we want.
We can listen to what music we want, set the temperature we
want, and change our route if the weather is unfavorable in the area
we were supposed to reach.
We can take our pet either a cat or a puppy or whatever we know
would make our holiday more enjoyable
We can choose who to go with either family or friends
