workers are those who help (e.g., newcomers) rather than
those who are helped
• However due to rapid changes in work practice, older workers
themselves might need to be helped

• Understand the role of workplace design and individual
differences in enhancing helping in units/working groups
• Develop and testing the classification of the motivation for
helping older workers
• Address the call for field studies on helping in units/working
groups
How?
• Account for the hierarchical structure of work by investigating
motivation for helping older workers and:
• helper’s personal characteristics (Level 1)
• helper’s unit/working group characteristics (Level 2)

• 15-20 minutes long anonymous questionnaire
To whom the questionnaire is addressed?
• All employees and collaborators of Fondazione Bruno Kessler
How will the data be used?
• Analyzed only in aggregated form with use of multi-level
modeling technics and exclusively for scientific research
purposes
-> this will be possible only if you indicate your unit/working group
• Presented in Fondazione Bruno Kessler at the end of the
research project
